I'd start off with Slow River (0345395379) by Nicola Griffith, except I'd be very hopeful you have already read it.

Oh, and hello. ;)

I have not read this book yet, but I will make a point to go out and get it.

Also, hello to you, too. :)

Well, I hope you enjoy it! It's probably the most unorthodox scifi plot I've ever seen, but Griffith has the skill to work it, and the narrative construct (three different timelines all interacting with your understanding of each other) just puts me in awe.

Plus, yay for a lesbian heroine whose sexuality isn't central to the plot. Yay, I say!

Well, anything Connie Willis :)

Nancy Kress has three wonderful how to writes called, "Beginnings, middles, and ends" and two others that are also good. These have helped me an awful lot, and plus, they're enjoyable reads.

Terry Pratchett, Parke Godwin "Waiting for the Galactic Bus," Clive Barker's "Weaveworld," Richard Bach's "The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah," Grant Naylor's Red Dwarf Series: "Red Dwarf," and the other one, I can't think of now. Zenna Henderson's People series and short story collections: "The Anything Box," and two others, and Ray Bradbury, his early stuff. Stephen Baxter, anything.

There's a bunch of others, but these are some of my favorites :)
